Shawn is a partner practicing in the firm’s Vancouver office.
His practice focuses on both tax planning for individuals and businesses as well as audit representation and tax litigation matters. On audit representation and tax litigation matters, Shawn has extensive experience representing taxpayers on audits and appeals on a wide array of tax matters including real estate dispositions, net worth assessments, payroll audit issues including employee versus independent contractor characterization matters and audits relating to foreign holdings.
Shawn co-authors and presents courses for CPABC on tax planning for business succession and taxation of domestic trusts and has also presented at CLEBC courses on various areas of tax law. Prior to joining Thorsteinssons, Shawn gained extensive experience practicing in banking and finance.
