Alex Menethil is an associate practicing in the firm’s Vancouver office.
Alex’s practice focuses on domestic and international tax planning for individuals, trusts, and corporations, including estate planning for high-net-worth individuals. He also represents clients who are in dispute with the Canada Revenue Agency.
Prior to joining Thorsteinssons LLP, Alex clerked for the judges of the Tax Court of Canada and completed his articles at a major international law firm.
Alex obtained his undergraduate degree at Wilfrid Laurier University where he studied Business Administration and Psychology. He completed his J.D./M.B.A. degrees at Osgoode Hall Law School and Schulich School of Business. During law school, Alex served as Vice President for Osgoode Tax Law Association and Senior Clinic Fellow at IP Osgoode Innovation Clinic, an intellectual property law clinic for entrepreneurs and startups, in Toronto. He was admitted to the Ontario Bar in 2022 and the British Columbia Bar in 2023.
