Trine Nilsen joined Thorsteinssons LLP in 2007. Previously, she was Director of Finance for another national law firm based in Vancouver. Prior to law, Ms. Nilsen held several senior financial, administration, and operations management positions in the areas of retail, distribution, and professional services. These roles were within large multinational/multi-entity organizations including Volvo Penta Canada, Inc., H.Y. Louie Co. Ltd., and KPMG LLP.
As a member of the Certified General Accountants Associations of BC and Canada (1988), Ms. Nilsen is also a graduate of the Pursuit of Excellence Series, Associate member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, a member of the Association of Legal Administrators, the BC Legal Management Association, the Association of Women in Finance, the International Legal Technology Association, and the Professional Women’s Network.
Charitable activities have included volunteering as a Big Sister for the Big Sisters of BC Lower Mainland, the YWCA Mentorship Program, the Easter Seals Sailing Regatta, and BC Children’s Hospital.
Born in Vancouver and raised on Vancouver Island, Ms. Nilsen’s first language is Norwegian and she is conversant in Scandinavian languages.
